2025 New FPLS Applicants
2025 Renewal FPLS Applicants
Part 1: Initial Application Submission
Window: October 1, 2024 - December 13, 2024
  • Element 1: Statement of Intent (pdf)
    • Applicant must have completed 3 full school years of service working as a full-time, certified school library media specialist prior to applying for the FPLS Award.
  • Element 2: Copy of teaching certificate

Part 2: Surveys
Window: January 6, 2025- February 14, 2025

  • Element 3: Surveys
    • Student, Teacher, Administrator & Parent links will be emailed to district supervisors of participating schools sites on January 6, 2025
    • Progress updates will be emailed on January 17th, January 31st & February 7th
    • Schools who meet survey requirements will move to Part 3.  Schools will be notified by February 16th.
       
Part 3: Comprehensive Digital Portfolio
Window: April 15, 2025

Comprehensive Digital Portfolio must include:
  • Element 4: Documentation
    • Vision/Mission of the Library Program
    • Evidence (brief narratives, documents, pictures, artifacts, etc.) supporting each component of the ExC3EL Rubric​
    • Video elements to support components, as appropriate (5-6 minutes of video total)
    • Plan for continued improvement
  • Element 5: ExC3EL Self-Reflection (xlsx)
    • Additional Resources
    • ExC3EL Rubric (pdf)
    • Portfolio Scoring Sheet (pdf) (This will be used by the FPLS committee when scoring the portfolio.)

    • Narrative elements demonstrating continued impact of the Library Media Program and changes and enhancements of the program since achieving FPLS to meet the evolving needs of students and the learning community.
    • Video elements to support ExC3EL Rubric components, as appropriate (5-6 minutes of video total)
    • Narrative plan for future continued evolution of the library media program.
